I wasn't expecting the ease of installation I ended up having for this product. I have a D-Link router and don't know if that had anything to do with how quickly I got everything set up but all I did was plug this into my XBOX-360 and bam, that was it. XBOX picked it up right away and I picked my network. The adapter is pretty small too.
As far as lag and gameplay, I'm not sure yet if it's because of my internet connection or this adapter OR my main router, but on occasion (not too often), I get disconnected from a game. That is pretty annoying and only because of that, I gave this adapter a 4 star. I need to try setting a direct line to the main router and see if there is a difference. The lag isn't bad as far as I can tell, but again, i'd have to do a direct line test and compare. If I do, I'll update this review.
I chose to get this rather than the one sold specifically for the XBOX because I felt I could do more with this. The other one, you have to be sure you have a USB connection, this one you can use for just about anything with a ethernet cable output. I would recommend buying this product.

this adapter is really great the speed i clock it with my cable connection got 5m up and 20m down. Pretty fast but if the price can be lower will be better. Installion is very easy!!!

I was having many issues with the DGL-3420 and sent my issues to d-link (many of the same ones listed on other reviews). Amazingly after a couple months of my email d-link released a new firmware addressing all my issues. For any current owners be sure to try the new firmware.

I use this with the D-Link DGL-4300 for DirecTV On-Demand service and have no problems whatsoever. I have the Model HR20-700 satellite receiver. It has very fast download speeds and WPA2 encryption was smooth to set up. I have this one set about 90 feet from the router and the signal strength is excellent. I'm going to purchase more of these adapters in the future when I add more HD DVR satellite receivers.

Works as advertised when paired with DGL-4300 router...easy set up. Gameplay on Halo 3, COD4, Battlefield, etc is just like wired connection. I have 2 xbox360 (one wired to router and wireless) no issues with disconnection and lag due to sharing...

The browser-based configuration of this unit is poorly thought-out and buggy, but once configured, it's solid.

For example, you can't skip the setup wizard and just jump to the advanced settings. And you can't set WPA via the wizard. So you have to run the wizard first, and select WEP or open mode, complete the wizard, and then go to the advanced options and set WPA. It mysteriously took many attempts before the settings were actually saved.

Once I finished the configuration, the unit connected to my D-Link DWL-7100AP access point using WPA-TKIP, and has been operating for about a week now without interruption. I am using it with the XBOX Media Center Extender, and it's been able to keep up with streaming audio and video.

If your router is not by D-Link, and particularly if you use WPA encryption with that router, do not purchase the DGL-3420. I have tested it with both the Linksys WRT54G and the SMC 2804WMBP-G, and WPA fails with both of them. D-Link technical support, in fact, has confirmed that THEY know the adapter doesn't work using WPA with the WRT54G.

Besides, for significantly less money you can get a wireless bridge with a lot more functionality. After this product failed for me, I purchased the Netgear WGPS606, which can connect FOUR items (X-Box, computer, whatever) to your wireless network AND two wireless print servers, all for $20 less (on Amazon).

I'm pleased to report that this wireless adapter, when coupled with the same product line (DGL-4300) wireless router, works great and has a good range for a strong signal. I was a little hesitent on the price of this adapter since I just bought a somewhat pricy, but well worth it, gaming router (DGL-4300) from D-Link, but after setting it all up, I was pleasently surprised. I was surprised at how easy this adapter was to setup, and how I can configure everything from within the xbox itself. No PC needed.

Our Xbox is in a completely different part of the house than the wireless router, but we still get a strong enough signal to get zero lag when playing online. Well, as zero lag as we were getting when we were wired to the router anyways.
Bottom Line: Highly recommended to all Xbox Live players that have wireless capabilities.

I was peer pressured into buying the D-Link gaming router (DGL-4300 I believe) and it was well worth the price. So after having good success with that D-Link gaming product I figured I might as well get my Xbox to be wireless instead of dragging out a long ethernet cable everytime I wanted to play online.

So basically the setup to this is done through the Xbox itself. The configuration screen is right there in the Xbox. Amazing to say the least. Anyhow I was able to set this up and get it working/communicating with my D-Link gaming router quick and easy. No major problems, just follow the easily laid out install guide that comes with the product.

The look is nice, the blue LEDs definitely stand out when it is on top of my Xbox and everyone who sees it is jealous. w00t!

I'd also like to mention the most important part. Even with wireless I get zero lag when playing Halo and other games on Xbox Live. The router is a big help as well. Check it out too. (DGL-4300)
