"The little box that solves a big problem." 2007-06-17
By The Matrix Fan
Well, as an avid gamer, it was only a matter of time before I had too many systems to hook up to one television. Thankfully, this little box, which weighs practically nothing, provided the solution I was looking for. It's a quick setup, and I have noticed no loss in picture quality or sound.

The enclosed directions are a little confusing, but if you can hook up a DVD player to your TV, you can figure out how to connect this thing.

I've hooked up a Wii, Sega CDX, a Playstation 3 and a Playstation 2 to it and all of the systems are in perfect working order. I picked this up for $27.00, a price well worth the convenience of not having to disconnect and reconnect systems all the time.

Highly recommended.

 "console changer" 2007-05-06
By Strawberry skulls (Arnold, Ca USA)
This Item can definately be a must-have for gamers with a handfull of different gaming systems. It's life span varies with type of usage. If you move a few times, or something like that, it can kill the thing, so treat it kind and it should return the favor. Definately worth the few bucks to not have to change cords around all the time!

Lasted a few weeks and then died. Got a replacement and that died too. Company sent me a carry case for my PS2 because they gave up making it. Can't imagine why.

 "6 system auto selector video/audio - CAUTION" 2007-11-02
By alt
First it isn't a game that I'm reviewing so I have no idea how much fun it is. This auto switch seems to work but be careful. It isn't actually a 6 system switch. It will switch 2 systems or 4 systems but not 6. It has 4 inputs for video/audio and 2 inputs for S-Video/audio. Then for output you have a single video, S-Video, and the R/L audio. The S-Video output only connects to the S-Video inputs. So this can be a 2-way S-Video/audio switch. The video outputs connect to the video inputs. So this can be a 4 way video/audio switch. It can only be a 6-way switch if you can connect to the exact combination of video and S-Video and you have both Video and S-Video inputs into your TV.

 "Game A/B switch" 2007-07-12
By John Cornell (Highland Mills, NY United States)
Unlike the older ones, this switch automatically turns to the system turned on. If a second sytem is turned on it jumps to it. There is a button that lets you jump to each system if you want to. The only draw back is that you can plug up to 6 different game systems, but two of them are just for S video with 2 RCA jack connections. It will only take 4 of the standard 3 plug lines, 1 video, 2 audio, those that are used in SNES, Nitendo 64, PS2, XBOX etc. I lucked out and only was looking to use it for 4 systems. It works very well!

Great to have if you have multiple game systems! So easy to use! cant live wthout it

Every time I hook my Xbox 360 up to it, I get interference (screen flickers, lines, etc.) I'm going to keep looking for a good switcher, because this one ain't it.

Customer Buzz
Works as advertised with no hassle. Its nice to not have to plug it into the wall, and very easy to switch between sources.

Customer Buzz
Mine was out of warranty and the composite video started to become flaky. Turns out the plug to the video was loose. I then found out that many of the plugs were loose. So I took mine apart and found that many of the solder points were disconnected from the mainboard of the device. Completely faulty soldering.

If you are looking for a system selector, you have found it. It is a basic system selector, and will work with basic TVs, but I fear it won't work with high def TVs. If all that matters to you is that it is an easy way to change systems, and quality is not lost, then you have clicked on the right item. However, I cannot say whether or not it works with high def systems like the PS3. I guess you'd have to take a risk. But, what kind of person would play their PS3 on a regular TV? I know I would. Just buy this selector if you need one. OK?

Customer Buzz
I bought one of these at a different store and when I went to hook it up I found out that not all of the inputs worked. I exchanged it for another one hoping for a better result, but I had the same problem with the second one. I finally returned the second one for my money back and went to Radio Shack and bought a system selector that actually worked. Also, don't be fooled into thinking that you're getting 4 component inputs. You get 3 component and one composite input.

Customer Buzz
I purchased the PL-970, although my package does not specifically state it works in HD. I assumed (correctly) that it was just wire connections. The system is hardware (physical switching) and does not require power. Easy and simply to set up. Works great with my Wii and Xbox360. I saw other similar switch box options that were just over $100. This is definitely a steal in comparison.

Customer Buzz
This is a great product for a great price - but you should be aware that if you have an older tv, or a tv that doesn't have multi-video mode capability (video 1, video 2, etc.) you will not be able to use the front Input 4 - so you can only actually use it for 3 peripherals, which is a bit annoying for me.

Customer Buzz
Before we picked up our Xbox 360, we were already maxed out on the input ports of our home theatre system. This device, though, helped us piggyback our 360 in with our Playstation 2 connection with no noticeable loss of quality. It has both component and composite inputs (great if you have multiple devices with more than one output type), as well as interchangeable labels for each input. It's all mechanical, so there's no power connection necessary.

The one way it could have been better would have been if it included optical audio ports, but I understand that is much more complex technology and requires more expensive components. Aside from that, though, it has worked absolutely perfectly for me!
