 "Son Increibles" 2008-08-30
By Julio (Bariloche)
Son increiblemente buenos. Suenan muy pero muy bien y son robustos (los uso bastante desde hace 6 meses y estan como nuevos). El cable es un poco grueso pero lo acepto porque no conozco cables mas finos y blandos que no se corten con el tiempo.

"Great! But price jumped $60 since i bought them" 2007-11-28
By Alex P Keaton (PA, USA)
I am giving this 2 stars because I paid $97.99 on Nov 13th, 2007. And now on Nov 28th, 2007 (as I come back to review this after a few weeks with the product), the price is now $159.00. DO NOT BUY these for that price. You can get these cheaper elsewhere, plus there are better options at this price point. (Namely, Shure's new line of earbuds. These earbuds are the old model, which is why you can find them cheap.)

Other than the price, these are 4 stars. I have a Sony MDR-V6 over the ear cans that I use at work, and a Sennheiser HD-580 cans + headphone amp that I use at home.

The positives:

I was looking for a few things when I bought this: I want to use these at work and not have *anyone* hear what I am listening to at loud volumes. The Sony's I have do a good job of blocking out sound, and they are reasonable at keeping sound in, but at loud volumes you can hear what is being played while not wearing the cans. With these earbuds you can run at max volume and no one will know what you are playing. So I am happy with these for work use.

Also the sound is great on these as others have stated (more on this in the negatives section). These are not as good as the Senn's + headphone amp, but as a naked out of the box listening experience these are superb.

The noise isolation is outstanding as others have said. These are great for zoning out in an office in order to get alot of work done with no distractions. If your phone is low, you probably won't even hear it ring.

The cord length on these are fine even though it is shorter than the E3cs. Frankly, I would probably think the E3c cord length is too long if this is the shortened version. Also, this is the *same exact* headphone as the (more expensive) E3cs in everything other than cord length. I would definitely buy these over that if you can save even $10, unless you really think you want a long cord. As a 5'10" guy, the cord is more than adequate for putting my ipod in my hip pocket.

The negatives:

These do take a while to get used to inserting properly. This is a big negative that really distracted from my immediate enjoyment of these. For the first week I was constantly paranoid that I didn't have them in correctly. This also leads to the next point:

Even when you learn how to insert these properly, it still takes time to insert properly. These are not good for when you have to constantly pause the music to answer a phone or have a conversation. You can't simply just take them out of your ear and place them quickly back on.

Although I haven't tried, I doubt these would be good for running. They might be fine for a stationary bike.

Summary:

I heartily recommend these buds if you want maximum sound quality while also having great sound isolation (both for you and for surrounding people). For pure sound quality without isolation concerns, there are probably better options in this price range (I would recommend Sennheiser full cans + a head phone amp).

 "Great Earphones, High Cost" 2007-11-26
By Benjamin
I upgraded from Shure e2's to these and I'm very, very pleased with the sound and comfort differences. The sound-isolation is decent with the black and clear flex sleeves, and the sound quality is fine. But with the yellow foam sleeves, the sound quality is even clearer because of much better sound-isolation. Also, the earphones are much more comfortable with the foams. The only problem with using these specific sleeves is that they need to be changed out unlike the gray and clear sleeves.

These are great earphones if you have the money to spend.

 "These are FANTASTIC!!!" 2007-11-17
By E. Balch (East Greenbush, New York United States)
I researched these (and many others) thoroughly before choosing the E3g's. Compared to other earphones at this price point the E3g's are well-made and perform extremely well. Bass is (to my ear) just about perfect. Obviously these are quite efficient as well. It was necessary for me to reduce the volume significantly so be careful when you first use them. Clarity is excellent and compares very favorably to my studio headphones. A common complaint concerns fit but I have not experienced that issue. Shure provides quite a variety of foam covers and it seems likely most people should be able to find a good fit. For the price i paid (under $100) I can't imagine you could do better as long as fit is not an issue.

"If only there were a 4 and a half." 2007-11-06
By Joshua Kim (evanston, IL usa)
These headphones are pretty amazing. for the price on amazon (i bought them for $105) they are solid set of headphones. there's really no need to go into big detail so i'll just make a quick list of pro's and con's (for all of you who are lazy like i am and hate reading long reviews)

pros:

Amazing sound quality

Really isolates sound (a car zoomed 2 feet in front of me and i heard nothing but the music was listening to)

Fits well into ears (once you get used to it)

cons:

you have to get used to the headphones fitting comfortably (usually depends on what foam thing you decide to put on)

could use a tiny bit more bass

really though for the price you get what you pay for. this is a solid, solid set of headphones, and i'd recommend it to anyone who's willing to shell out a benjamin. the reason why i'd give it a 4 and half stars instead of 5 is because they're not ideal for walking around with because when the cables hit your body or anything for that matter you can really hear the banging. I've decided to use it for when i listen to music in my dorm room or when i'm on a plane ride. for exercising, i stick to my ipod headphones.

hope this helped!

enjoy.

Good stuff.

I'm not an audiophile so I didn't want to waste time looking around for a setup. This one's great. I stream netflix through my xbox and the sound is excellent.

I can hear COD4 bad guys sneak up on me too :)

This surround sound player designed for XBOX 360 is the absolute best surround sound system I have come across. I am a nerd when it comes to anything related to technology so I make sure what I am buying is well worth the money.

If you are looking for a small - medium sized surround sound player for your XBOX 360, look no further. I have this set up in my bedroom, which is a decent medium sized bedroom. The system has a volume control that you can turn up to a level of 50 and I often find myself playing games no louder than at 30 and movies no louder than 35. It is extremely powerful and can fill a medium sized room with ease.

The remote is perfect and allows complete control of the XBOX menu as well as DVD's. There are a lot of wires, but i easily have them hidden behind the TV and across my walls for the rear speakers. You also have additional inputs, so other game consoles or media can be plugged into them as well. I have a Nintendo Wii that I run through the red and white audio cables and it still produces beautiful sound.

Also, this system is absolutely perfect for movies as well. The remote has full control of the XBOX 360 DVD features. I was recently watching Iron Man and the sound quality was unreal. It has gorgeous true 5.1 surround sound as well. With deep bass, and the fact that you can hear bullets flying from the left side of your room to the right is stunning. This is also true for video games.

So, in conclusion. I could not recommend this product enough to anyone with a XBOX 360. This is perfect if you are looking to take you gaming, music and movies to the next level. 5 stars, 2 thumbs up, etc etc etc.

I cant begin to explain how great this system is other than to call it perfect for the money. Don't let the price fool you on this, most times you get what you paid for, not here, this things is worth double the money. It sounds better than systems I have paid 700 bucks for. You have several options on where to put the "receiver", simple mounting for the surround speakers. The color coding for the hook ups could be performed by a 2 year old its so simply. If your thinking no way I could hook up a surround system in your home. If you can keep it between the lines when you color and read a few simple words, you will be thinking you could work at Best Buy when your done.
The sounds are crisp, precise, One thing that really makes the HTS-GS1 great, you can hear the people talking, instead of more rumble and back ground noise from most systems. other surround systems sound good till you use them in an average movie or network TV. Your then left watching every movie with closed caption on. Hmmm didn't I buy a surround system?)The speakers are setup perfect, but sound can be changed to have more front than back or left than right etc. Has two optic sound inputs one from the Xbox 360, one for TV input. It has a built in fm tuner, its more than you need to experience a great home theater for under 200 bucks. You will be happy with your purchase if you actually mount them in a surround configuration, not stacked beside or around the TV.

Pioneer HTS-GS1 5.1-Channel Surround Sound System for the Xbox 360

I bought this HTIB for $120 shipped to compliment my primary home theater setup. I have cable box, a PS3, DVD player and a computer hooked up to this system.

The goods:
- plenty of contectivity. 2 optical and one coax input.
- Decodes almost every thing (Dolby DTS and other I don't even know about)
- Very small foot print
- Wall mountable/ very small speakers
- Fills up a small room with enough sound

The Bads:
- Sound is really just okay. Sounds much better than my 50 inch samsung TV.
- Music sounds horrible on these speakers, movies sound okay.
- No video (HDMI) inputs, at this price I don't know if it's fair to expect these

To wrap it up I'd say for the money these are pretty good but not a serious replacement for good sound system.

Customer Buzz
(Please look at pictures in image gallery for picture of product setup) I purchased this system off ebay for a reasonable price. I would've bought it on Amazon, but it was not being offered on Amazon anymore. My setup consists of a Toshiba 37" LCD HDTV, a PS3, and a Dish Network HD box. At first I wasn't too sure if this would work with my PS3, but after reading tons of reviews for this system (on Amazon and several other sites) I decided that this was the perfect setup for me. At the time I ordered the system, my room was pretty small, about 10x10. I purchased this system, and I also purchased 2 sets (each set contains 2)of Atlantic 77305018 Satellite Speaker stands. There is a great little video tutorial on youtube that shows a young man unpacking his system and setting it up.
Though not necessary, it was nice for me to be able to see everything before I got the system. Made setting it up all the more easier. The hardest part of the install for me was running the speaker wire through the tube of the Atlantic speaker stand. But with patience and a ballpen to help push the wire down, I got it down the other side on all four stands. I then placed the satellites in the four corners of my room, and the center channel I placed in front of the TV, right in the center below it. (TV is on a stand) Best placement for center channel speaker is either right below TV or right on top of it, in the center. (as far as I know) I then adjusted the speaker stands (Great stands by the way!)so that they were about ear level. (measured them all with tape measure to make sure they were at equal height.) I then angled the front speakers inwards a bit, and placed the subwoofer/receiver directly to the right of the TV stand. (right of the TV while you are looking from it) I made all the connections, and then proceeded with the MCACC calibration. Note: I use HDMI to connect my ps3 and dish network satellite box to my television, then used digital optical cables to run both ps3 and Dish Network box to HTS-GS1. The system comes with one optical cable, it was a thin black plastic cable which looked pretty dinky, but does the job fine. I purchased another optical cable beforehand since I knew I would need it. I placed the system's box on top of my chair, then placed the microphone on top of the box. (make sure room is quiet as possible when doing test) The system began to emit a series of cool sounds for several minutes, which swept across the room. After this was done, I inserted Batman Begins into the Blu-Ray Player, then skipped to the batmobile chase scene. WOW! I was able to hear sounds which were completely lacking when watching it through the dull TV speakers. I heard screeching of tires, crashes, explosions, and when the Batmobile jumped through the waterfall I thought I was going to get splashed for a second!
Simply put, the 5.1 surround sound will change your home viewing experience. I then put in Metal Gear Solid 4, and played through a level in which artillery shells are being dropped all over the place. Holy battlefield Batman! This transformed my gaming experience completely. When I play Hot Shots Golf, I can hear birds and all kinds of funny stuff coming through the rear speakers. It is fantastic. For optimal sound, you will want these speakers at around ear level. Have the rear speakers in the corners of the room. Have the front left, front right, and center channel speaker at an equal distance from your listening position. Since I bought the system, I moved to a bigger room which is 16x15. I placed the rear speakers in the corners, center channel in same spot under TV, and have the front right and left speakers each about 36" to the sides of the TV. The sound is superb. I also purchased 5 wiremold white cordmate Kit #C110 from Amazon, which allowed me to conceal all the wiring which runs to the speakers. I highly recommend this as well if you want to conceal your speaker wiring. Overall, I would recommend this setup to anyone who is looking for an inexpensive way to truly enjoy 5.1 dolby and DTS. I know I could get better sound if I purchased a seperate receiver and speakers at a higher price, but for my purposes, this system suits me 100%. I wanted to enjoy dolby and dts for my games, movie, and Dish Network HD, and this has allowed me to do so. I am very pleased with this purchase.

This is an awesome product guys, and an even better seller! Great product, fast shipping, and very cheap for everything you get plus the performance of the unit! I have my XBox 360 hooked up in HD plus the Digital Audio jacks in the unit, plus I have my HD TV hooked up with the Digital Audio and they both sound amazing! I have had three different Surround Sound units and this blows all of them out of the water!

Thanks guys, we will be doing business again! REAL SOON!

I bought this surround sound system for my son as an Xmas gift. He had told me previously that he would like a good sound system for his X Box, but that it was difficult to find anything designed for it under several hundred dollars. He and I hooked everything up easily, and he is very pleased with the results. The speakers are small enough to make them inconspicuous when mounted on small corner shelves up on each wall, which is what we did. The self-calibration function is a nice feature, such that the sound is adjusted for the location of the speakers. Overall, he's very pleased with th sound quality. Based on everything else (which wasn't much) that we could find, this was a great value, even considering the high shipping costs (due to the weight).

Customer Buzz
After doing a bit of research, this home theater system was a standout choice. With its comparably low price, I was skeptical of its quality. But after reading reviews here and elsewhere, I decided to order it.

As I pulled everything out of the box I noticed how solid all of the equipment felt, as well as the not too shabby finish. The instructions were straight-forward and I was ready to go in about 30 minutes. I have to agree with other reviews that the wires a bit of a pain, partly because I was concealing them. But for this price, it really wasn't an issue.

Sound is surprisingly good for the size of the speakers. I used to have an Aiwa w/ virtual surround that had 12" speakers, and the Pioneer's 4" match the sound of those and then some. The receiver/subwoofer combination is unusual, but works as it allows all to be hidden except the separate "head-unit" plate. Auto-calibration left nothing to be desired in terms of speaker levels. However, I did have to some tweaking to get games to sound right- nothing too difficult.

I would recommend this to anyone looking for a home theater in a box (HTIB) unit. Easy set-up, not just restricted to Xbox use, and it's price make it a great choice for those wanting to get a foot in the door of high quality entertainment.

Pioneer definitely came through with this system.
