The seller sent an e-mail that he mailed the HDMI Cable but it has not shown up yet. The player works fine.

I like this unit very much, It also Upconverts DVD. It's a shame they discontinued HD DVD, because they have great clarity and good performance.
I own this HD DVD player and a Playstation 3, which I use to play Blue Ray movies and seriously, I can't tell the difference.
Picked 2 of these up at Sams Club for $68.00 each. With the free cable and 2 HD movies they pretty much gave me the player. Have had no problems with playing disc's whatsoever. Even plays my old DVD+R disc's. Standard DVD's look terrific and as soon as I upgrade to HDMI on my TV I will see what the upconversion looks like. Unit will not upconvert through the component output's. No regrets yet.

I made the mistake of buying one of these for Christmas, only to have Toshiba and the rest of the industry declare the HD format dead weeks later.
What a waste of money for myself and the others who poured cash down the HD-DVD money drain. I should have known better than to spend my cash before the format war ended.
Toshiba has announced that they are getting out of the next generation DVD player business. Get a conventional DVD player or a Blu-Ray, not one of these dogs.
